This luxury private island purchased thousands of coronavirus tests from a Miami-based health care provider to use for the convenience of their residents and staff.
Fisher Island, the exclusive enclave off the coast of Florida hosts America’s richest zip code, purchased the rapid COVID-19 blood test kits from the University of Miami Health System, according to the Miami Herald.
The private island negotiated terms with the hospital system to produce the test kits for over a 1000 families on the island, the Herald said.
The employees who maintain the property of the island and patrol its streets will also receive tests.
So far less than 1 percent of Florida’s population has been tested for coronavirus.
